Are you paying attention?

This may be very hard to hear, but there are an average of 10 million animals each year that are abused. No this is not an overstatement about physical and emotional abuse; this is simply stating a fact.

But the main reason I want to bring this up is to ask if you are paying attention to your pets. Much of their bad behavior can be from previous abuse before they came to be your forever pet.

You may be thinking, “Nope I’m good I got my pet from a breeder.” However, it has been found that there are many breeders out there causing abuse as well. We can’t assume anything when it comes to our pets. But animal abuse and/or neglect come in different forms. Let’s break it down to know the difference.

Abuse:

  • Broken bones and bruises caused by kicking or beatings.

  • Severe matting, filthy coats, or sores caused by lack of care or bathing.

  • Wall eye or fear of tight places caused by being tied up or caged for long periods.

  • Neck abrasions are caused by chains or padlocks around the neck.

  • Many scars on the ears, neck, and face are caused by being used in dog fighting rings.

Neglect:

  • Kept outside tied to a tree all the time.

  • Little to no exercise.

  • Dropped off or left in fields to fend for themselves.

Abandonment:

  • Acting very needy and clingy.

  • Afraid to trust anyone.

  • Depressed and not able to love or feel love.

I know these are not pleasant things to think about, but what most people don’t realize is how many animals are hurt by people who simply don’t care. Many times, these people are also abusive not only to animals but to the people around them. The good news is that you can help your pet, if you suspect they may have had a dicey past, with Energy Medicine and animal communication.

One of my specialties is animal communication between pets and their human family. I work to get to the root of the problem allowing your pets to release the past trauma they may have had to endure. Clearing those old memories and emotional patterns will allow them to heal and start to love and trust again. However, many times we are unaware of some of the signs to look out for. Here’s a list of some of the behavior signs that may show up.

  • Fearful of strangers, people, or possibly other animals.

  • Aggression towards people or other animals.

  • Avoidance of situations or areas.

  • Depressed or appears sad, sleeping more, and not playing much.

If you see any of these signs in your pets, you may want to consider helping them release their past trauma. When you get to the root of the problem, your pet can finally heal their emotional wounds.
